Bhetki in Orange Juice is merely a modernised version of the customary varieties of the traditional Bhetki fish. This modern touch enhances its taste to a new level keeping intact the original & loved taste of Bhetki.
Ingredients for preparing Bhetki in Orange Juice:
- Whole bhetki fish : 2 pieces (small size)
- Cinnamon : 1†(powdered)
- Clove : 2 pieces (powdered)
- Onion paste : 1 tbsp
- Sugar : ½ cup
- Garlic paste : 1 tsp
- Orange juice : 1 cup
- Green chilli : 5 pieces (slit)
- Salt : to taste
- Pepper powder : 1 tsp
- Refined oil : 4 tbsp
- Vinegar : 2 tbsp
- Orange slices : for garnishing
- Coriander leaves : for garnishing
Procedure for preparing Bhetki in Orange Juice:
- Wash & clean the bhetki. Rub with salt, vinegar & keep aside for an hour.
- Rub the fishes with cinnamon & clove.
- Heat oil in a pan & fry the fishes till light brown.
- Take out the fishes & keep aside.
- Add onion paste, garlic paste in the rest of the oil.
- Add salt, sugar & stir well.
- Add pepper powder, green chilli & orange juice.
- Add fishes & cover. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Uncover. Turn up the fishes & again cook for 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Garnish with orange slices & coriander leaves. Serve hot.
