Chana Da Ka Halwa is a Indian sweet dish made from Bengal Gram, flavoured with cardamom & cinnamon, loaded with dry fruits. Tasty & very healthy.
Ingredients for Chana Dal Ka Halwa Recipe
- Chana Dal/ Bengal Gram – 250 gms
- Sugar – 250 gms
- Ghee – 150 gms
- Milk – half glass
- Cardamom/ Elaichi – 2 pieces
- Cinnamon/ Dalchini – ½ inch
- Cloves/ Laung – 2 pieces
- Dry fruits – 100 gm (optional)
- Water – for boiling
Procedure for preparing Chana Dal Ka Halwa
Soak chana dal for 2 to 3 hours and then boil it till it’s cooked & the water fully evaporates. Let it cool down, then blend it into grinder to make smooth paste.
Heat ghee in a saucepan add cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and dal paste in it, stir continuously on medium till it colour changes.
Now add milk and sugar and mix it well & cook till it releases ghee from it.
Remove from heat and garnish with dry fruits. You may also put it on a flat bed, and cut it out into pieces when it cools down & hardens.
