Dahi Pomfret is an East Indian dish. It tastes awesome as the combination of pomfret, dahi & spices.
Ingredients for preparing Dahi Pomfret:
- Pomfret : 4 pieces (200 gm each)
- Yogurt (dahi) : 250 gm
- Turmeric powder : 1 tsp
- Pepper powder : 3 tsp
- Oil : to fry
- Salt : to taste
- Onion : 1 piece (finely chopped)
- Garlic paste : ½ tsp
- Green chilli : 2 pieces (finely chopped)
- Mustard seed : ½ tsp
Procedure for preparing Dahi Pomfret:
- Marinate pomfret with salt, turmeric powder & pepper powder for an hour.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Deep fry the pomfret till golden brown.
- Take out the pomfret & keep aside.
- Add mustard seeds in rest of the oil.
- Add chopped onions, garlic & stir fry.
- When it becomes light brown, add salt, ginger & green chillies.
- Remove from heat.
- Beat yogurt with ½ tsp of salt & mix the onion mixture into this.
- Arrange the pomfret in the plate.
- Pour masala yogurt over the pomfret.
- Serve with steamed rice or polao.
