Surmai (King Fish) Gravy recipe

Fish is very healthy food and is very good for brain and hair growth. Surmai fish also known as King Fish have lesser bones and very easy to eat.

Procedure for preparing Surmai Fish Gravy

Marinate fish with 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 2 tsp and lemon juice for half hour.

In a wok heat oil, fry the marinated fish and keep aside.

In remaining oil add whole cumin seeds, let it splutter immediately add garlic paste saute for half minute and add onion paste.

Once onion color changes (light pink), add salt, tomato puree red chilly powder,coriander and remaining 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder. Mix it well till oil releases.

Pour half glass of water, heat it for 2 minutes and then put that fried fish. Cover & cook for 5 minutes in low flame.

Remove from heat, garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve hot with bread, roomali roti or steamed rice.
