Spicy Crab Curry is a very popular seafood in Sri Lanka. This rich spicy dish is served with plain rice.
Ingredients for preparing Spicy Crab Curry:
- Crab : 4 pieces
- Onion paste : 4 tbsp
- Garlic paste : 4 tbsp
- Ginger paste : 1 tbsp
- Kashmiri red chilli powder : 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder : 1 tsp
- Green chilli : 2 pieces (slit)
- Tomato puree : ½ cup
- Salt : to taste
- Oil : as required
- Garam masala powder : 1 tsp
- Lemon juice : 1 tbsp
- Poppy seed paste : 1 tbsp
- Cumin seed : 1 tsp
- Bay leaves : 1 piece
- Ghee : 1 tbsp
Procedure for preparing Spicy Crab Curry:
- Wash & clean the crabs. Cut each into o pieces.
- Marinate the crab with salt & lemon juice for an hour.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add cumin seeds & bay leaves.
- Add garlic paste, onion paste. Stir in low flame till golden brown.
- Add crab & stir till its colour changes.
- Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, tomato puree, salt & poppy seed paste.
- Stir & when oil releases add 1 cup of water.
- Cook till crab tenders.
- Sprinkle garam masala, green chilli & ghee.
- Remove from heat & serve.
