Chana Masala is a vegetarian north Indian recipe combined with chana dal & spices. It goes amazing with bhatura.
Ingredients for preparing Chana Masala:
- Chana dal : 500
- Oil : 2 tbsp
- Cumin seeds : 1 tsp
- Onion paste : 1 tbsp
- Garlic Paste : 1 tbsp
- Sugar : ½ tsp
- Red chilli powder : 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder : ½ tsp
- Coriander powder : 1 tsp
- Tomato puree : ½ cup
- Green chillies : 2 pieces (chopped)
- Garam masala powder : 1 tsp
- Chana masala : 1 tsp
- Coriander leaves : 1 tbsp (chopped)
Procedure for preparing Chana Masala:
- Boil chana with a pinch of salt.
- Put oil in a pan.
- Add cumin seeds & stir fry for a minute.
- Add onion paste, garlic paste, sugar, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder & fry for 2 minutes.
- Add tomato puree, green chillies & boiled chana.
- Stir well for 3 minutes.
- Add garam masala powder, chana masala, coriander leaves & remove from heat.
- Serve hot.
