Chana Masala Recipe

Chana Masala Recipe

Chana Masala is a vegetarian north Indian recipe combined with chana dal & spices. It goes amazing with bhatura.

Ingredients for preparing Chana Masala:

  • Chana dal : 500
  • Oil : 2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds : 1 tsp
  • Onion paste : 1 tbsp
  • Garlic Paste : 1 tbsp
  • Sugar : ½ tsp
  • Red chilli powder : 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder : ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder : 1 tsp
  • Tomato puree : ½ cup
  • Green chillies : 2 pieces (chopped)
  • Garam masala powder : 1 tsp
  • Chana masala : 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves : 1 tbsp (chopped)

Procedure for preparing Chana Masala:

  • Boil chana with a pinch of salt.
  • Put oil in a pan.
  • Add cumin seeds & stir fry for a minute.
  • Add onion paste, garlic paste, sugar, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder & fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add tomato puree, green chillies & boiled chana.
  • Stir well for 3 minutes.
  • Add garam masala powder, chana masala, coriander leaves & remove from heat.
  • Serve hot.
