Koli Nallamallu Fry is an ethnic dish of Coorg area in southern India. It’s made spicy, it’s best served with Chapati or Porotta.
Ingredients for Koli Nallamallu Fry Recipe
- Chicken – 750 gms
- Tamarind pulp – 1 tsp
- Onions – 1 ½ (sliced) ½ (chopped)
- Chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Green chillies – 2 (chopped)
- Garlic – 10- flakes (chopped)
- Ginger – 2 tbsp (chopped)
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Peppercorns – 2 tsp
- Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp (chopped)
- Salt – to taste
- Water – as required
- Oil – 3 tbsp
Procedure for preparing Koli Nallamallu Fry Recipe
Heat oil in a pan and fry the sliced onions. Add the chicken and sauté on high heat till it changes colour.
Add salt and water and cook till the chicken is tender.
Meanwhile blend the chopped onion and all the remaining ingredients to a fine paste. Add the masala paste to the pan and fry well until the masala starts to separate from oil.
Fry the chicken in the masala till dry and brown. Garnish with onion rings & lemon, serve hot with Chapati.
