Dry Fruit Halwa Recipe

Dry fruit halwa is a sweet dish prepared by cooking grated walnuts in milk,sugar and clarified butter/ghee till it takes the form of a halwa. Walnut is known as Akhrot in India and is a very healthy dry fruit. This halwa is easy to prepare and delicious and is a perfect desert after a meal.

Ingredients for Dry Fruit Halwa Recipe

  • Walnut/Akhrot – 250 gms
  • Sugar (powdered) – 4 tbsp
  • Milk powder – 1 cup
  • Ghee – 2 tbsp
  • Milk – as required to knead

Procedure for preparing Dry Fruit Halwa Recipe

Grate akhrot / walnut (grate to medium flakes) and keep aside.

Mix milk powder, sugar and milk in separate bowl.

Now heat ghee in a pan and add the above mixture. After 2 minutes of heating add grated  akhrot / walnut.

Stir continuously till the walnut  melts fully . Once the walnut melts fully and the colour of the halwa becomes brownish remove from heat.

Garnish with a few chopped walnuts.
