Fish Cutlet involves easily eatable ingredients & simple procedure. Moreover the all time favourite Bhetki fish adds to the popularity of this recipe.
Ingredients for preparing Fish Cutlet:
- Bhetki : 250 gm
- Green chilli : 4 pieces (chopped)
- Salt : to taste
- Turmeric powder : ½ tsp
- Red chilli powder : 1tsp
- Sugar : ½ tsp
- Onion : 1 piece (chopped)
- Garlic flakes : 5 pieces (chopped)
- Oil : as required
- Bread Crumbs : 100 gm
- Egg : 1 piece
- Cornflour : 1 tbsp
- Garam masala Powder : 1 tsp
- Roasted jeera powder : ½ tsp
- Lemon Juice : 2 tbsp
- Coriander leaves : 1 bunch (finely chopped)
- Bread slice : 4 pieces
- Pepper : ½ tsp
Procedure for preparing Fish Cutlet:
- Steam the bhetki with 1 cup of water & 1 tsp of salt.
- Drain out the water & spread lemon juice.
- Debone & keep aside.
- Soak the breads in water & squeeze out the water.
- Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan.
- Add onion, garlic & stir for 2 minutes.
- Add bhetki, bread, green chilli, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, sugar.
- Stir well till oil releases.
- Spread roasted jeera powder, coriander leaves. Stir in low flame for a minute.
- Remove from heat. Make small balls out of these.
- Give the balls the cutlet shape using hand.
- Beat egg in a bowl. Mix cornflour, pepper & salt.
- Dip the cutlet into the egg mixture.
- Then dip it in bread crumbs.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Deep fry the cutlets.
- Serve hot.
