Potato Stew Recipe (Aloo stew)

Potato Stew is a very easy yet delicious dish which is made by cooking potatoes in coconut milk and is a famous dish that South Indians team up with appam or iddiappam. Stew is also made with meat.

Ingredients for Potato Stew Recipe

  • Potatoes – 4 medium (cubed)
  • Onion – 2 large (sliced)
  • Green chillies – 2(slit)
  • Ginger – 1inch(chopped)
  • Coconut milk -½ cup
  • Curry leaves – 1 strand
  • Salt to taste
  • Coconut oil-1 tbsp

Procedure for preparing Potato Stew

Boil the potatoes, ginger, onions, salt and green chillies with sufficient water .

Once the potatoes are cooked add curry leaves and coconut milk to the potatoes and as soon as it comes to boil remove from fire. Now pour the coconut oil on top of this . Serve hot with appam, iddiappam or hot chappatis.
