Kumro Phooler Boda Recipe / Pumpkin flower Fritters

Kumro Phooler boda

Kumro Phool Boda/Bhaja is made from pimpkin flowers and is served best with a meal of rice and dal. The pumpkin blossoms are dipped in a rice powder-besan batter and then deep fried until crisp.

Ingredients for Kumro Phooler Boda Recipe

  • Kumro phool/pumpkin flower – 4
  • Besan/gram flour – 1 cup
  • Rice powder(raw rice) – 1 cup
  • Chili powder – ½ tsp
  • Jeera/cumin powder – ½ tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – as required
  • Oil – 300 ml(for deep frying)

Procedure for preparing Kumro Phooler Boda Recipe

Wash the pumpkin flowers and remove the stems.

Take a bowl and add besan, rice powder, chilli powder, cumin powder and salt and mix well. To this add a little water so as to make a thick batter.

Now heat oil in a pan. Dip the pumpkin flower one by one in the batter and then deep fry in the oil until crisp. Serve hot with rice or eat as a snack with tomato sauce.
