Sabudana Wada Recipe

Sabudana Vada can be used a fast food, snack or a food during fasts. Takes little time to prepare, and totally worth the time & effort.

Rajgira flour has numerous health benefits, this dish a nice and easy way to introduce it to kids.

Ingredients for Sabudana Wada Recipe

  • Sabudana/Sago – 1 cup
  • Potatoes – 2 (Medium)
  • Corn flour or Rajgira flour – ½ cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Green Chillies – 3 (Chopped)
  • Grated Ginger – 1 tsp
  • Lemon Juice – 1 Tbsp
  • Oil for deep frying

For the dip:

  • Curd – 3 cups
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Cardamom Powder – ½ tsp

 Procedure for preparing Sabudana Wada Recipe

Wash and drain sabudana and let it soak in a little water for a 3-4 hours.

Boil two potatoes. Allow it to cool down. Mash it. It should be about double the amount of sabudana.

Take a big bowl. Add green chillies, grated ginger, lemon juice and coriander leaves. Add sabudana to it. Add salt, turmeric, mashed potatoes and the flour. Knead it into a dough.

For the dip, in a blender, blend curd, sugar and cardamom powder till well blended.

Serve the wadas hot with chilled dip.

Tip: Take a sheet of kitchen towel and wet it. Keep it handy to wet your hands before you roll out the dough in smaller rounds and make them flat. Keep an eye while frying them so that they don’t pop open.
