Suji ka Halwa Recipe

Suji ka Halwa Recipe

Semolina Pudding/ Suji ka halwa is a very common and delicious desert prepared all over India. It is easy to prepare with few easily available ingredients.

Ingredients for Suji ka Halwa

  • Suji (semolina) – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Ghee – ½ cup
  • Badam – 4 – 5 pieces (Chopped)
  • Raisin – 1 tsp
  • Green cardamom – 1 piece (peeled)
  • Water – 2 cups

Procedure for preparing Suji ka Halwa

Heat ghee in a wok, add cardamom first then suji and stir continuously for 5 minutes, till its smell comes out and become golden brown. Then add water first then sugar and raisin. Be careful while adding water, the steam can burn your hand.

Now sauté for 5 minutes and cover and cook on low flame for 5-10 minutes till suji tenders and ghee is released. In between check it and turn whole halwa with spoon, so that each and every side is cooked.

Garnish it with badam and serve hot.
