White Gosht Recipe

White Gosht Recipe

Safed Gosht is a Muslim delicacy which all red meat lovers will enjoy. It’s best enjoyed with parathas or naan.

Ingredients for preparing White Gosht

  • Mutton – 500 gms
  • Onion – 6 pieces (paste)
  • Oil – 100 ml
  • Whole black pepper / peppercorns – 7-8
  • Cinnamon/ Dalchini / दालचीनी – 1 inch
  • Clove / Lawang / लौंग – 4-5 pieces
  • Whole cumin seeds – 1/2tsp
  • Dry red chilli – 3 pieces
  • Ginger – 1inch (chopped)
  • Garlic – 6-7 pieces (chopped)
  • Curd – half cup (whisked)
  • Potatoes – 6 pieces (diced)
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – as require

Procedure for preparing White Gosht

In pressure cooker put oil, onion, mutton, cumin seeds, ginger, garlic, cinnamon, clove, pepper, red chilly, salt and water as required. Pressure cook everything up to 3 whistles and then continue cooking on a low flame till mutton tenders

Now add whisked curd and sauté it for 5 minutes. Add potatoes and water (if required) and pressure cook till potatoes tender. Remove from heat and check whether gravy is thick, if not then heat in high flame till gravy becomes thick.

Serve hot with roti, naan, paratha or white bread.
