Gujrati Dhokla Recipe

Gujrati Dhokla Recipe

Dhokla is the popular Gujrati recipe. It is a steamed snack contains rich & delicious flavour.

Ingredients for preparing Dhokla:

  • Gram flour : 1 cup
  • Yogurt : 1 cup
  • Sodium bi carbonate : 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder : ½ tsp
  • Green chilli paste : 1 tsp
  • Ginger paste : ½ tsp
  • Salt : to taste
  • Water : 1 cup
  • Mango powder : 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice : 1 tsp
  • Oil : 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds : 1 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves : 1 bunch (chopped)
  • Coconut : 2 tbsp (grated)
  • Curry leaves : 8 pieces
  • Green chillies : 3 pieces

Procedure for preparing Dhokla:

  • Mix Gram flour, yogurt, water & make a smooth dough.
  • Add salt & keep aside for 4 hours.
  • Then add green chilli paste, turmeric powder, sodium bi carbonate, lemon juice to the mixture & mix well.
  • Pour the batter into the greased pan & steam for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat & let it be cool.
  • Cut into rectangle pieces.
  • Now heat oil in a pan.
  • Add mustard seeds, curry leaves & stir well.
  • Spread this seasoning over the dhokla pieces.
  • Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves, green chillies, grated coconut & serve with chutney.
