Amra Chutney Recipe

Amra is a fruit which is sour and bengalis make a very delicious chutney with it. It is very easy to prepare and is very delicious and it gives a sweet and sour taste.

Ingredients for Amra Chutney Recipe

  • Amra/Hog Plum – 7-8
  • Paanch phoron – 1/2 tsp
  • Dry red chillies – 1-2(broken)
  • Oil – 1 tsp
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Water – as required

Procedure for preparing Amra Chutney Recipe

In this chutney I used small amras whereas you can also use the bigger ones.

Firstly wash these amras and then cut them in squares.

Boil these in a little water till soft and then throw the water away and smash these soft amras into a pulp.

Heat oil in a pan and add paanch phoron and allow it to splutter and then add the dry red chillies and sauté. then add the amra pulp to it and mix well.

Now add the sugar to it and mix well till a thick syrupy texture is formed add little water if the consistency is very thick. Your chutney is ready to be served as a dessert after the meal.
