Egg Chop is a super tea time snack or tiffin item for kids which is easy to make and very yummy. Very healthy and heavy dish that fills your appetite. It is a popular evening time snack in many places throughout India, especially Bengal.

Ingredients for Egg chop Recipe

  • Eggs – 3 (boiled)
  • Potatoes – 6 (boiled)
  • Jeera (cumin)powder –  3 tsp
  • Chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 2 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Pepper– to taste
  • Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp(chopped) (optional)
  • Bread crumbs – to coat the chop
  • Egg – 1 (beaten ) to coat the chop
  • Oil – for frying

Procedure for preparing Egg chop Recipe

Mash the boiled potatoes and add cumin powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, ginger- garlic paste, salt , pepper, and coriander leaves to it and mix well. Meanwhile cut each boiled egg into 2 halves.

Now cover each egg half with the potato mix to make a ball or oval shape(as per your desire) then dip it in the beaten egg and then roll it on the bread crumbs so that it gets properly coated with it.

Then deep fry all the prepared egg balls and your Egg chop is ready to be served hot with tomato sauce .

Note – You can also cut the boiled eggs into 4 pieces and make smaller chops. When in a hurry just mix cumin powder and salt and pepper to the potatoes and make the chops, even this tastes very good.
