Coconut Ladoo Recipe

Nadu/ Narkeler Naru or narial ladoo or coconut ladoos are made with scraped coconut and jaggery. These are very delicious and simple to prepare and is prepared in Bengal for various pujas.

Ingredients for Naru Recipe

  • Coconut – 1 coconut(scraped)
  • Cardamom– 4-5 (take the seeds and crush them)
  • Jaggery/gur – 350-400 gms

Procedure for preparing Naru Recipe

Break the gur/jaggery into small pieces and mix well with the scraped coconut and keep aside. Now heat a pan and add this coconut-jaggery mix and let the jaggery melt properly.

Stir continuously till the the mixture becomes dry and very sticky (this may take some time as the mix needs to be dry and the jaggery needs to get rid of any water that it has while continuously stiring).

At this stage add the crushed cardamom seeds and mix well.

Remove from heat and form small balls out of the mixture while the mix is still hot and let the ladoos cool. The ladoos will be set once it cools.
