Everyone loves cupcakes, these red velvety cupcakes are ideal for Christmas celebrations, you can top them with fresh cream, and they’ll be irresistible.
Ingredients for Red Velvet Cupcakes
- All Purpose Flour/Maida – 1 ½ cups
- Powdered Baking Cocoa – ¼ cup
- Baking Powder – 1 tsp
- Baking Soda – 1 tsp
- A pinch of salt
- Sugar – 1½ cup
- Unsalted Butter/White Butter (Room Temperature) – ½ cup
- Eggs – 3
- Unsalted Buttermilk – ½ cup
- Pure Vanilla Extract – 1 tsp
- Red Food Colour – 1 tsp
Procedure for making Red Velvet Cupcakes
Preheat oven to 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
In a bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients except sugar i.e. flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and cocoa powder.
Now in a large bowl, combine butter and sugar and mix them with an electric mixer till the mixture is fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time and combine with the mixer.
Now, alternately add the dry mixture and buttermilk and mix with the mixer after each addition.
When this is done, add vanilla extract and the red colour and combine once again.
Place cupcake liners in the cupcake pan and pour batter till half the cup is filled.
Place this cupcake tray in oven for 15 minutes. With a toothpick, pierce a cupcake in the middle. If it comes out clean, then its done. Else keep for 10 more minutes.
Remove the cupcakes from the tray and place them separately to allow them to cool.
