Sezwan Chilli Prawn is a cuisine of China. It is very tasty. This spicy prawn makes a simple, impressive dish, which you can serve in your own party with fried rice or noodles.
Ingredients for preparing Sezwan Chilli Prawn:
- Prawn : 500 gm
- Salt : to taste
- Vinegar : 1 tbsp
- Oil : for frying
- For Batter:
- Cornflour : 500 gm
- Egg : 1 piece (beaten)
- Baking powder : ½ tsp
- Salt : ½ tsp
- Pepper : ½ tsp
- For Sauce:
- Tomato Sauce : 2 tbsp
- Chilli garlic sauce : 2 tbsp
- Soya sauce : 1 tbsp
- Beans : 100 gm (chopped)
- Capsicum : 100 gm (chopped)
- Carrot : 100 gm (chopped)
- Onion : 2 pieces (chopped)
- Ginger paste : 1 tbsp
- Ajinomoto : a pinch (optional)
- Cornflour : 2 tsp (diluted in ½ cup of water)
- Red chilli : 2 pieces (slit)
- Salt : to taste
- Oil : 2 tbsp
Procedure for preparing Sezwan Chilli Prawn:
- Wash the prawn & marinate with salt & vinegar for an hour.
- Mix cornflour, egg, baking powder, salt, pepper & water to make a smooth batter.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Dip the marinated prawn into the batter & deep fry into the oil till golden brown.
- Take out the fried prawn & keep aside.
- Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a separate pan.
- Add onion, ginger paste, red chilli & sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add capsicum, tomato puree, chilli garlic sauce, soya sauce & salt. Stir for a minute.
- Add 1 cup of water. Allow it to boil for 5 minutes.
- Add cornflour, ajinomoto & fried prawn. Toss well till gravy thickens.
- Remove from heat & serve with fried rice or noodles.
