Tandoori Pomfrete Recipe

A tandoor is a cylindrical clay oven used in cooking & baking. Tandoori Pomfrete combined with spices, onion & colour is irresistibly aromatic & tender.

Ingredients for preparing Tandoori Pomfrete:

  • Whole pomfrete : 2 pieces
  • Salt : to taste
  • Lemon juice : 2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder : 1 tsp
  • Salt : to taste
  • Ginger garlic paste : 1 tsp
  • Cumin seed powder : ½ tsp
  • Garam masala : ½ TSP
  • Nutmeg powder : ¼ tsp
  • Mace powder : ¼ tsp
  • Curd : 2 tbsp
  • Orange food colour : 1 pinch
  • Saffron : ½ tsp
  • Butter : 1 tsp

Procedure for preparing Tandoori Pomfrete:

  • Wash & clean fish & cut slight over the body.
  • Marinate with salt, lemon juice & red chilli powder & keep for 15 minutes.
  • Mix garlic ginger paste, cumin seed powder, garam masala powder, nutmeg powder, mace powder, curd, food colour & saffron, in a bowl.
  • Add this to fish & keep for 1 hour.
  • Grease the baking tray with butter.
  • Bake the fish for 10 minutes in 350 degree temperature.
  • Serve hot.
