Karahi Paneer is a popular Punjabi recipe. This is an amazing recipe & tastes very yummy.
Ingredients for preparing Karahi Paneer:
- Paneer : 500 gm (cut into square pieces)
- Yogurt : 2 tbsp
- Onion : 1 piece (paste)
- Tomato puree : 1 tbsp
- Red chilli powder : 1 tsp
- Ginger paste : 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder : ½ tsp
- Saffron : ½ tsp (soaked in ½ cup of milk)
- Red food colour : 2 drops
- Oil : 4 tbsp
- Salt : to taste
- Cashew nut paste : 1 tbsp
- Sugar : ½ tsp
Procedure for preparing Karahi Paneer:
- Heat oil in a karahi (wok).
- Add paneer pieces. Fry till golden brown.
- Take out paneer pieces. Keep aside.
- Mix yogurt , saffron, red food colour, cashew nut paste, turmeric powder, tomato puree, ginger paste, red chilli powder & salt.
- Add onion paste & sugar in the rest of the oil in karahi. Stir well till brown.
- Add masala mixture. Stir in low flame for 4 minutes.
- Add paneer & stir till oil releases.
- Remove from heat & serve.
