Karahi Paneer Recipe

Karahi Paneer is a popular Punjabi recipe. This is an amazing recipe & tastes very yummy.

Ingredients for preparing Karahi Paneer:

  • Paneer : 500 gm (cut into square pieces)
  • Yogurt : 2 tbsp
  • Onion : 1 piece (paste)
  • Tomato puree : 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder : 1 tsp
  • Ginger paste : 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder : ½ tsp
  • Saffron : ½ tsp (soaked in ½ cup of milk)
  • Red food colour : 2 drops
  • Oil : 4 tbsp
  • Salt : to taste
  • Cashew nut paste : 1 tbsp
  • Sugar : ½ tsp

Procedure for preparing Karahi Paneer:

  • Heat oil in a karahi (wok).
  • Add paneer pieces. Fry till golden brown.
  • Take out paneer pieces. Keep aside.
  • Mix yogurt , saffron, red food colour, cashew nut paste, turmeric powder, tomato puree, ginger paste, red chilli powder & salt.
  • Add onion paste & sugar in the rest of the oil in karahi. Stir well till brown.
  • Add masala mixture. Stir in low flame for 4 minutes.
  • Add paneer & stir till oil releases.
  • Remove from heat & serve.
