Poha a light and easy snacks or breakfast cuisine of Madhya Pradesh where the the flattened rice is cleaned in water and then marinated with turmeric and salt. Onions,potatoes and green peas are fried in oil and then the flattened rice is added to it. It is easy to prepare and also delicious and healthy to eat.

Ingredients for Poha Recipe

  • Chira (flattened rice/beaten rice)- 2 cups
  • Potato – 1 medium (chopped)
  • Green peas – ½ cup (boiled)
  • Onion – 1(chopped)
  • Green chillies – 2 (chopped)
  • Urad dal – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Salt – to taste

Procedure for preparing Poha Recipe

Clean the chira with water and then drain. Now rub turmeric powder and salt on it and keep aside.

Heat 2 1 tbsp oil in a pan and add the chopped onions, urad dal, potatoes, green peas and green chillies. Sauté for 2 minutes so that the potatoes are cooked.

Now add the chira to it and mix well. Sauté for further 2 minutes. Serve hot with tomato sauce.
