Chicken Fry is a delicious and easy to prepare dish which goes very well as a side dish for the main meal or can be had as an appetizer as well. In this recipe the chicken pieces are marinated with spices and curd and then deep fried.
Ingredients for Chicken Fry Recipe
- Chicken – 500 gms
- Ginger – 2 tbsp
- Garlic – 5-6 flakes
- Chilli powder – 1½ tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
- Cumin powder – 1 tsp
- Curd – 1 tsp (beaten)
- Salt – to taste
- Oil – 300 ml (for deep frying)
Procedure for preparing Chicken Fry Recipe
Wash the chicken pieces and cut straight lines on the chicken with a knife (so that the chicken can be well marinated), keep aside.
Make a paste of all the other ingredients except curd. Apply the paste on the chicken pieces and also apply the beaten curd on the chicken pieces. Let the chicken pieces marinate for at least ½ hour.
Heat oil in a pan for frying the chicken pieces and deep fry the chicken pieces. Serve hot.
Note – you may also use a drop of red colour while marinating the chicken to give a nice colour to the chicken. I generally don’t use artificial colour because of my kid.
