Chinese Chop Suey Recipe

Chop suey is a Chinese cuisine consisting of meat and eggs, cooked quickly with vegetables such as beans,carrots,celery and bound in a starch-thickened sauce. It is typically served with rice but can become the Chinese-American form of chow mien with the addition of stir-fried noodles.

Ingredients for Chinese Chop Suey Recipe

  • Cooked noodles – 1 cup
  • Chicken – 1 cup(cooked and shredded)
  • Eggs – 1 (scrambled)
  • Spring onions – 1 bunch
  • Celery – 4 stalks
  • Carrots – 2
  • Cornflour – 1 tbsp
  • Sugar – 1 tsp
  • Soya sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Salad oil/Olive oil – ½ cup
  • Salt– to taste

Procedure for preparing Chinese Chop Suey Recipe

Boil the chicken with a pinch of salt and shred it into small pieces. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan, fry spring onions,and vegetables separately with a pinch of salt. Drain off and keep aside.

Beat the egg and then pour it in the pan and scramble it.

Mix cornflour with ½ cup of water and pour into the pan,stirring all the time. Cook for 5 minutes.

Add sugar and soya sauce to it. Now put in the vegetables,chicken,eggs and noodles. Mix well and serve hot.
