Prawn Malaicurry is a classic Bengali delicacy. It contains a amazing flavour of prawn & coconut milk. It is usually served with steamed rice.
Ingredients for preparing Prawn Malaicurry:
- Prawn : 2 pieces
- Coconut milk : 2 cups
- Ginger paste : 1 tbsp
- Garlic paste : 1 tsp
- Onion paste : 2 tbsp
- Green Chilli : 4 pieces (slit)
- Lemon : 1 piece
- Refined oil : 1 cup
- Sugar : 1 tsp
- Salt : to taste
- Garam masala powder : 1 tsp
- Pure ghee : 1 tbsp
- Whole cinnamon : 1â€
- Whole cardamom : 2 pieces
- Whole clove : 2 pieces
- Red chilli powder : 1 tsp
- Tomato puree : 2 tbsp
- Bay leaves : 1 piece
Procedure for preparing Prawn Malaicurry:
- Marinate the prawn with salt & lemon juice for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Fry the prawn pieces till golden brown.
- Take out from oil & keep aside.
- Add whole cinnamon, cardamom, clove, bay leaves in the rest of the oil.
- Add garlic paste & onion paste & stir fry.
- Add sugar, red chilli powder, ginger paste, tomato puree & salt.
- Cook in low flame till oil releases.
- Add fried prawn & coconut milk & cover for 6 minutes.
- If require add ½ cup of hot water to make gravy.
- Sprinkle garam masala powder & ghee.
- Prawn malaicurry is ready to serve.
