Sweet & Sour Chicken is a Chinese recipe. This dish is combined with chicken and sweet & sour sauce. Enjoy it with fried rice or noodles.
Ingredients for preparing Sweet & Sour Chicken:
- Chicken – 1 kg
- Onion – 3 pieces (diced)
- Egg – 1 piece (beaten)
- Cucumber – 2 pieces (diced)
- Carrot – 100 gm (diced)
- Beans – 100 gm (diced)
- Capsicum – 100 gm (diced)
- Pineapple – 100 gm (diced)
- Vinegar – 4 tbsp
- Flour – 4 tbsp
- Soya sauce – 1 tsp
- Sweet & Sour sauce – 2 tbsp
- Hot & sweet sauce – 1 tbsp
- Salt – to taste
- Garlic – 1 tbsp (chopped)
- Cornflour – 2 tbsp
- Chicken stock – ½ cup
- Ajinomoto – 1 pinch
Procedure for preparing Sweet & Sour Chicken:
- Boil chicken with 1 tsp of salt.
- Make a batter of flour, 1 tbsp of cornflour & egg.
- Dip the boiled chicken pieces into the batter & dip fry. Keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add all the vegetables, pineapple & sauté.
- Mix all the sauces & sugar & add to the vegetables.
- Add chicken stock & remaining cornflour mixed with water.
- Add fried chicken pieces & ajinomoto.
- Cook for 5 minutes & serve hot.
