Chole masala is a popular vegetable dish in Pakistani cuisine & Indian Cuisine.The main ingredient is chickpeas and it is cooked with other spices and is popular mainly in Northern India, especially Punjab.
Ingredients for Chole Masala Recipe
- Kabuliu chana – 2 cups
- Onion – 1 ½ (chopped)
- Ginger – 1 inch
- Garlic – 2-3
- Chole masala – 2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – a pinch
- Coriander powder – ¼ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Oil/ghee – 2 tbsp
Procedure for preparing Chole Masala Recipe
Soak the kabuli chana overnight and then wash them and pressure cook it with turmeric, salt and coriander powder. Set aside.
Make a paste of ½ onion, ginger and garlic in a mixer-grinder. Heat oil/ghee in a pan and add the rest of the Onion and sautÃ© for 2 minutes. To this add the prepared paste and sautÃ© for another 2 minutes.
Add the chole masala and mix well. SautÃ© till the masala is cooked and to this add the boiled chole.
Mix well. Check seasoning and serve hot garnished with onion rings.
