Chole masala is a popular vegetable dish in Pakistani cuisine & Indian Cuisine.The main ingredient is chickpeas and it is cooked with other spices and is popular mainly in Northern India, especially Punjab.
Ingredients for Chole Masala Recipe
- Kabuliu chana – 2 cups
- Onion – 1 ½ (chopped)
- Ginger – 1 inch
- Garlic – 2-3
- Chole masala – 2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – a pinch
- Coriander powder – ¼ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Oil/ghee – 2 tbsp
Procedure for preparing Chole Masala Recipe
Soak the kabuli chana overnight and then wash them and pressure cook it with turmeric, salt and coriander powder. Set aside.
Make a paste of ½ onion, ginger and garlic in a mixer-grinder. Heat oil/ghee in a pan and add the rest of the Onion and sauté for 2 minutes. To this add the prepared paste and sauté for another 2 minutes.
Add the chole masala and mix well. Sauté till the masala is cooked and to this add the boiled chole.
Mix well. Check seasoning and serve hot garnished with onion rings.
