Imli Chutney Recipe

Tamarind Chutney or imli chutney is sweet and sour and is a favourite condiment. This tangy chutney can be used as a dip or stir-in sauce for numerous Indian snacks. It is a blend of indian spices and tamarind.

Ingredients for Imli Chutney Recipe

  • Tamarind – 100 gms(size of a tennis ball)
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Boiling water – 1½ cup
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black salt – ½ tsp
  • Pepper – ½ tsp
  • Cumin powder – ½ tsp
  • Chilli powder -½ tsp

 

Procedure for preparing Imli Chutney Recipe

Soak the tamarind in the boiling water and then smash and strain. Throw away the pulp after straining.

Blend pepper, salt, black salt, chilli powder and cumin powder with the tamarind juice.

Finally add 1 cup sugar and mix well till the sugar dissolves.

Tamarind Chutney is ready to be served on chaats, vada pav and pakoras.
