Ginger – Curd/ Ingi Thayir Recipe

Ginger – Curd/ Ingi Thayir Recipe

Ginger- curd or Ingi Thayir  is a very good way to beat the heat. In the summers ginger- curd along with steamed rice tastes delicious and will also keep your stomach cool.

Ingredients for Ginger- curd recipe

  • Curd – 500 ml
  • Ginger – 1” piece
  • Grated coconut – ¼ cup
  • Green chillies – 2-3 (slit)
  • Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves – 1 strand
  • Dry red chillies – 2 (broken)
  • Salt – to taste

 Procedure for preparing Ginger curd recipe

Beat the curd well in a large bowl and add salt to it. Mix well and keep aside.

In a mixer – grinder grind the coconut , green chillies and ginger to a paste and then add it to the curd, mix well.

Heat oil in a pan and let mustard seeds splutter, then add curry leaves and dry red chilies and sauté for 2 minutes. Let it cool down and then add it to the curd.

Serve with steamed rice.
