Boondi Raita Recipe

Boondi raita is one of the many varieties  of raita made with yoghurt (dahi) and used as a sauce or dip. The yogurt may be seasoned with coriander (cilantro), cumin, mint, cayenne powder, and other herbs and spices. Boondi is popularly used to prepare ‘raita’ in North India.

Ingredients for Boondi Raita Recipe

  • Yoghurt – 2 cups (whipped)
  • Chilled water – as per requirement
  • Boondi – 1 cup
  • Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp (chopped)
  • Roasted cumin powder – 1 tsp
  • Red chilly powder – 2 pinch (for garnishing)
  • Salt – to taste

Procedure for Preparing Boondi Raita Recipe

Take the whipped yoghurt in a large bowl and add chilled water slowly while continuously whisking to create a thinner consistency. Meanwhile soak the boondi in water to make it soft.

Now add the chopped coriander leaves, salt and roasted cumin powder and mix well.

Add the boondi just before serving. Serve chilled.

Garnish with coriander leaves and red chilly powder.

Served best with biryani or pulao.
