Makke di roti which literally means (unraised) corn bread. Makke di roti is best served with Sarson da saag which is a specialty of Punjab. Makke di roti is prepared from maize flour nad so it is not soft but a little crispy.
Ingredients for Makke Di Roti Recipe
- Maize flour – 3 cups
- Lukewarm water– as required to knead
- Salt to taste
- Flour – to roll
Procedure for preparing Makke Di Roti Recipe
Knead the maize flour with lukewarm water and salt. Keep aside for 30 minutes.
Divide the dough into medium sized balls .
Dust some flour on the board and then flatten the dough balls to get a roti shape.
Heat a flat pan and cook rotis on low heat You can also apply butter on the rotis while preparing it.
It is best served with Sarson Da Saag.
