Procedure for preparing Lemon Rice Recipe

Cook the rice by adding six glasses of water (2 glass of water for 1 cup rice) so that the grains do not stick to each other, also add salt while cooking the rice . After the rice is cooked spread the cooked rice on a flat surface so that the grains are kept separated.

Heat oil in wok and add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter. To this add the dry red chillies and curry leaves and urud dal, sauté for 3-4 minutes till the urud dal turns lightly brownish in colour.

Meanwhile rub turmeric powder on the rice.

Once the urud dal turns brownish add the turmeric applied rice and also add lemon juice. Mix well and toss till the the lemon juice is evenly mixed with the rice. Check seasoning and add more salt if required.
