Paneer Capsicum Paratha is a famous North Indian cuisine where the parathas have paneer (cottage cheese) filling and is extremely delicious. Here the the filling is of paneer and capsicum with other spices. Kids will just love these and they are healthy too. The butter that we use during cooking the paratha gives an added flavour.
Ingredients for Paneer Capsicum Paratha
For the stuffing
- Paneer (Cottage cheese) – 300 gms (crumbled)
- Capsicum – 1(chopped)
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder – 1 pinch
- Salt – to taste
- Onion – 1(chopped)
- Coriander leaves – ¼ cup(chopped)
For the dough
- Atta(wheat flour) – 5 cups
- Salt – to taste
- Water – as required to knead
Procedure for preparing Paneer Capsicum Paratha
Take a big bowl with the wheat flour and add salt to it. mix well and then add water as required and knead it into a soft dough. Cover it and keep aside for ½ hour.
Meanwhile heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onions. sauté till pinkish in colour and then add the capsicum to it. Sauté till the capsicum is cooked and then add turmeric powder,cumin powder and salt.
Mix well and cook till the masala is cooked . Now add the crumbled paneer and mix well, sauté for 2 minutes. To this add chopped coriander leaves, mix well. Check seasoning. Remove from fire.
Now make medium sized balls out of the dough. Take a ball and with the help of a rolling pin make a small circle the take a spoonful of the stuffing and place it in the centre of the circle and enclose it in the dough and seal properly.
Dust a little flour on the board and roll it out as parathas. Heat a griddle and cook the parathas on it by applying a little butter on it. Serve hot with Curd dip or Pickle or Green chutney.
