Chicken lollipop is made from the middle (and sometimes inner) segments of chicken wings. The middle segment has one of the two bones removed, and the flesh on the segments is pushed to one end of the bone. These are then coated in a spicy batter and then deep fried.
Ingredients for Chicken Lollipop Recipe
- Chicken breasts(ligaments removed and turned into lollipop) – 6
- Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- Egg – 1
- Cornflour – 2 tbsp
- Salt – to taste
- Pepper – ½ tsp
- Chilli sauce – 1 tsp
- Soy sauce – 1 tsp
- Vinegar – 1 tsp
- Oil – 300 ml for deep frying
Procedure for preparing Chicken Lollipop Recipe
Clean the 6 chicken drumsticks(i.e. 3 chicken breasts which yields 2 lollipops each) and keep aside.
In a different bowl whisk the egg and then add all the other ingredients to it except oil and whisk again.
Marinate the chicken drumsticks in this prepared batter for at least 1 hour.
Once the chicken is well marinated deep fry the pieces till golden brown. Chicken lollipop is ready to be served with ketchup.
Note – if you want you can add a few drops of red colour to the batter in which the lollipop is to be dipped. I generally avoid using artificial colour.
