This dal is a part of the staple diet in all Bengali homes, healthy, delicious and yet very easy to make.The most important ingredient is Radhuni – a mixture of spices – which is very common in everyday Bengali cooking.
Ingredients for Simple Bengali Dal Recipe
- Masoor dal – 1½ cup
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Radhuni – ½ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Water – as required
- Oil – 1 tsp
Procedure for preparing Simple Bengali Dal Recipe
Wash and drain the masoor dal. Boil it i8n the pressure cooker with turmeric and salt and enough water.
Heat oil in a kadhai and then add radhuni to it do not let it over brown. Add the boiled dal to this and mix well. Check seasoning. Serve hot with steamed rice.
